The Dirty Dirty - Cal game observations

- UCLA did not come to play. It’s hard to get up for a cellar dwellar after winning the conference championship the 2 days earlier in overtime against a very tough team. With the Bruins, it’s all about motivation - and they were not motivated.

- We own Cal. Cal fans, in my opinion, are the most obnoxious and irritating (even more than SC). They are loud and talk a lot of crap. Too bad they suck. We are better at basketball, we beat them at football, we have a better campus, we dont have grotesque females on our campus, we dont have disgusting cheerleaders. That pretty much sums it up.

- Josh Shipp - It is obvious to all Bruin fans that we need an outside threat. If we hit 3’s, NOONE IN THE COUNTRY CAN BEAT US ( if everyone is healthy). Shipp was absolutely atrocious during this game, and not to mention the past month. However, the Shipp shot was important in two ways: we beat Cal and Josh Shipp got his MOJO back. Anytime a player is in a funk, you need something to provide a spark. I think an over the backboard buzzer beater in perhaps your last home game will do that for you. If you dont understand, let me give you something to compare it to:

The Shipp Shot Analogy: Let’s say your friend got dumped by his girlfriend of 2 years. He goes on a prolonged slump. Confidence is lacking. The ladies are giving him no love. Then, out of nowhere, the boys are at a club and a really drunk hot girl starts talking to him and boom - they start making out and he gets lucky for a night. Even though its just one night, and she wakes up and vomits after seeing your friend, and even though your buddy got very, very lucky…bottom line is this: he gets his mojo back!!! This is Josh Shipp now - he is going to play well. Trust me on this one.
