- Josh Shipp and Darren Collison carried us today. Shipp made huge 3 after huge 3. Collison played one of his best overall games of the year.
- The Animal Westbrook is human after all. His shots were off and he made some ill advised decisions. His biggest weakness is over-aggression, both in terms of his passing and defense. A huge play was when he fouled Hackett by trying to take a full swing at the ball when the Bruins were up 2.
- James Keefe has filled in nicely. His biggest asset is that he cannot hurt you. He is a smart player, does not take bad shots, and is very fundamentally sound.
- Alfred Aboya is too wild. Not a complete shock, his over-aggression led to quite a few fouls and easy points for SC, as the Bruins were in the penalty early in the 2nd half.
- Kevin Love is a beast. He continues to hold his own against NBA caliber players (Taj Gibson). His basketball IQ is off the charts. The little nuances that he brings is so impressive for a college post - the way he draws fouls and positions himself for rebounds and in the post is uncanny.
- Russell Westbrook is our best post feeder.
- UCLA needs to get the ball to Love more, nothing bad can happen when he touches the ball.
- A huge problem is finding a go-to guy in a close game, down the stretch. Afflalo and Farmar would have hit some shots in the last minute to make it a game. We are far more talented and versatile this year, but this year’s team would not make a comeback like the Bruin team did 2 years ago against Gonzaga.
- The most impressive about OJ Mayo in person is his defense.
- Davon Jefferson is a tough matchup for anyone in college basketball. Great first step, great length, and supreme athleticism. However, he seems like a headcase and a showboater. OJ seems to be much more mature, but then again, he’s 35 years old.
- Dwight Lewis is built and looks like Cedric Bozeman.
- Taj Gibson’s game reminds me of Joe Smith.
- Kevin Love has improved dramatically on defense over the past 2 months.
- Matt Ware is ripped. Ricky Manning is huge. Cade Mcnown got old.
- Although a lot of people talk about Katie (the captain) and the Ashley Judd look a like, but the sleeper of the group is the brunette latina with straight hair. She is a franchise player and is oozing with upside.
- We will sweep the Oregon schools next week………………………..
