Per Ben Howland’s press conference this week, The Animal Westbrook will be running the zone offense for the Bruins.
POW Analysis:
The UCLA zone offense, consisting of passing back and forth along the perimeter until 5 seconds left on the shot clock (similar to Dorrell’s run run pass, run run fade in red zone offense), is going to drastically improve with The Animal on the point and Collison on the wing. Breaking the zone requires shooters, penetrators, or a good passing high post. Collison can shoot it, K Love and Luc can pass it, and we all know the Animal will attack it. It’s very good to see Howland mix up his personnel in order to get maximum results.
