1. RUSSELL WESTBROOK (THE ANIMAL) PLAYED SOME DIRTY D ON STEPH CURRY
We got to see the matchup close-up, and our boy Westy is an animal. In the future, we will just be referring him as the “animal”. Curry is a player, we have no doubt that he will make the NBA and actually I look forward to picking him up off waivers when my fantasy team needs 3’s. He got game, and his stroke is probably the best in college basketball since JJ Redick. But Curry was held to 6-20 shooting by the Animal. The Animal plays D like he just drank 5 red bulls, 3 expresso shots, and 10 cans of JOLT cola.
2. THE UCLA FOOTBALL COACHING SITUATION JUST GOT REAL DIRTY.
First Dorrell gets fired. Great news. Its never a good sign that I can out-coach my favorite football team’s coach in a game of Madden on Xbox. Put it this way, if my life depended on winning a game of Madden, I would probably pick Karl Dorrell as my opponent. You get my point. Now we find out through some good sources that Norm Chow is one of the leading candidates as his replacement. In terms of offensive explosiveness, this is like Justin Timberlake going from Brit Brit to Jessica Biel or Marko Jaric (yes, the former clipper) going from being metro - bisexual and getting no PT on the Clippers to dating Adriana Lima (and yes, this is a true story).
Now I know there are a lot of Norm Chow detractors out there, but cmon now. Lets think about this for a minute. Here is what Norm brings to the table: Loyalty - 27 years or something at BYU until some mormon guy made a racist statement. Norm quietly walked away. How do you think Herm Edwards would react if the Chiefs president made a racist statement about blacks? You get the point.Offensive guru - 2 national championships at USC. One of the best offensive minds in football. I dont care that the Titans suck, college and pros are different beasts. Just ask Charlie Weiss.Great Quarterbacking - Ok fellow Bruins - Bethel Thompson, Rashaan, Cowan and Olson. I mean seriously, we dont have much to work with here. So its gonna take a miracle to get some good quarterback play next year. That miracle is NORMAN CHOW. Keep in mind that Carson Palmer wasnt exactly lighting it up his first 3 years at USC. Did you hear of Philip Rivers before Norm got to him (and look what happened to him since)? You get my point. Norm has made a lot of qbs look really good and made them a good amount of money. Somewhere in Westwood, Ben Olson is praying right now as we speak that Norm becomes coach, so that Norm can make him into a poor man’s Boomer Esiason.He hates Pete Carroll - Thats really all you need to know about this one. Revenge is a beautiful thing and i want to be a part of it.I am telling you now. Dewayne Walker on D, Norman Chow on offense, E Scott in peoples homes (recruiting kids, not robbing homes. Stop thinking so dirty!). So we tell kids on both sides of the ball - don’t rob homes! we can get you to the NFL! Norm can get you there! Dewayne can get you there! Instant street cred. I dont care that Norman doesn’t have head coaching experience and I don’t care that he is not a smooth talker like Mooch or Petey. Even Bill Belichek had to start somewhere, and he doesn’t exactly seem like a talkative, well liked guy.
3. KEVIN LOVE’S D IS REALLY DIRTY!
